English
Department Head: Erin Sproule
The English Department is committed to providing every student with a pathway through to graduation as well as an appreciation for English Language Arts. After grade 9, we offer three different streams of English: English 10-1/10-2/10-3, 20-1/20-2/20-3 and 30-1/30-2/30-3. Students who are keen to enter University and/or have a passion for English take the -1 stream, students interested in trades and/or entrance into college take the -2 stream and students who need a little extra time and a more hands on approach to learning use the -3 stream to bridge into the -2 stream. The teachers in this department have often been described as “passionate”, “extremely knowledgeable” and “genuinely caring” when it comes to their subjects and students. We take great pride in loving what we teach and offering many resources and opportunities for students to learn and enjoy this subject.
